Kumram Bheem Asifabad: Unidentified persons broke open the window of an SBI branch and decamped with Rs five lakh in remote Ada village in Kerameri mandal on Sunday night.
Asifabad DSP Srinivas, who rushed to the spot, said the unidentified persons gained entry into the bank by breaking the windows of the building at around 2 am. He said police were going through the CCTV footage to identify the culprits, besides gathering relevant evidence.
The bank officials suspect that Rs 5 lakh was stolen from the branch, but the exact figure would be known by evening. They lodged a complaint with Kerameri police. A case was registered and investigations taken up. This is the first such incident reported in the district in the recent past.
