Kumram Bheem Asifabad: A three-day-long bird walk will be organized by the forest department in Kagaznagar division starting from Friday.

Officials of the forest department said that participants would take photographs of birds inhabiting various irrigation tanks, certain spots and forests frequented by winged wonders across the division.

Elaborate arrangements were made for the smooth conduct of the event. Nature lovers, experts, students, wildlife photographers and environmentalists would participate in the walk.

A fee of Rs 2,500 is going to be charged for participating in the event. In the maiden bird walk held in 2019, around 100 bird species were discovered in the division.

A similar quantum of birds was found in the second edition of the event held in 2022. About 270 bird species were already recorded by the officials in the Kaghaznagar forest division.

To the delight of the officials, the participants spotted some rare bird species such as Eurasian wryneck, tricolored munia, Riverton, brown rack chat, common kestrel, Sahin Falcon, red crested pochards, Eurasian Sparrow hawk, Woolly headed stark, Black eagle, etc., which made the forests of the district as their homes.
