This adorable video of Jr Mirabai Chanu has left netizens in awe

Now, Chanu’s impeccable victory seems to have already become an inspiration to young athletes.

Weightlifter Mirabai Chanu, who bagged a silver medal at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, didn’t just win the medal but also the hearts of millions of Indians for her victory. During her four successful attempts in the competition, the weightlifter lifted a total of 202 kg, which included 87 kg in a snatch and 115 in clean and jerk.

Now, Chanu’s impeccable victory seems to have already become an inspiration to young athletes. As she mentioned during a virtual conference organised by the Sports Authority of India, the weightlifter urged people to motivate their daughters to take up this sport as she believes that girls have the power to achieve anything.

Taking this cue as an inspiration, weightlifter Sathish Sivalingam shared an adorable video of his daughter imitating Mirabai Chanu’s actions from the television. In the video shared on his official Twitter handle, his daughter is first seen lifting the weight like how Mirabai does. Then, the little one even celebrated the silver medal similar to how Chanu did. Sharing the clip, the weightlifter called his daughter ‘junior Mirabai Chanu’ and the silver medalist a ‘true inspiration.’

The video immediately went viral with netizens not being able to adore the little one enough. On the same lines, Mirabai Chanu herself didn’t seem to resist the cuteness of the girl. Reacting to the viral video, the ace weightlifter wrote: “So cute. Just love this.”

Indian wrestler Sathish Sivalingam has won gold medals in the men’s 77 kg weight category at both the 2014 and the 2018 Commonwealth Games.
