The video is still making waves on the internet leaving many puzzled about the lyrebird’s abilities. Lyrebirds are incredible mimics, and have been known to imitate the sounds of various things like car engines, car alarms, chainsaws, music, ringtones, dogs barking, and the human voice.

Several netizens found the lyrebird mimicking both interesting and creepy. Many also shared their experiences of hearing a lyrebird make different noises.

One user wrote: “WOW! These birds are so amazing. Had one nearby ages ago that used to get me every time with its sound of a mobile phone ringing!(sic)”

“imagine working the night shift and hearing this(sic),” wrote another. So, what do you think of the mimicking bird?
