Hyderabad: Most of our lives end up becoming just about going to school and getting good grades, getting an engineering degree and searching for a job, settling down with our life partner and children. Although Hyderabad-based Anisha Reddy was on the same path, she broke the routine to do something different in life.

Anisha completed her BTech and started working for an MNC company. However, her interest in jewellery made her shift towards her weekly business. The young entrepreneur started working on her weekends and later turned it into her full-time profession.

Anisha became an entrepreneur and began running a successful jewellery business called Vibha Jewellery. “I used to love gold jewellery a lot, but when I visited expos or jewellery stores I realised that even basic designs are very expensive. So, I began working on creating interesting pieces of jewellery for a lesser price. If you’re paying Rs 10 lakh for a piece of jewellery in the market, I can make the same piece in about Rs 6 lakh, and in better quality. We curate these light-weight jewellery pieces according to our customers’ choice,” says the 32-year-old, who sketches the designs beforehand to show them to her customers.

Anisha credits her mother for her success as she supported her from the beginning. “We started this from home first, like experimenting with the collection and gathering people. It was not at all easy to do but after a couple of years, we started getting orders from abroad too,” says Anisha, who recently opened a new store in Santosh Nagar.

She didn’t stop there – she wanted to help needy people in the society as well. The humanitarian began training the abandoned or orphaned kids, and employed them at her jewellery store to provide them with a regular source of income.
