Hyderabad: Camaïeu, a French retail clothing company, unveiled a major campaign featuring eight women in their work clothes. The creative ad campaign has won the hearts of netizens for its honest portrayal of how women professionals look at work without unnecessarily glamourising it. The expressions of these daring ladies in the campaign show how much hard work and dedication it takes for them to kill it at their respective workplaces!
We can see a fisher woman pulling up her nets, a firefighter in her overalls, a chef in the kitchen, and an airplane pilot, whose job it really is. The campaign also shows a midwife, a lawyer, a beekeeper, and a mechanic who are in turn embodied by actresses.
“Away from work, they wear Camaïeu,” are the words that appear at the end of the video. According to the fashion brand, they are affirming the objective of giving women the means to feel good in their life.
“Buzzman campaign for clothing brand Camaïeu doesn’t show any of the brands clothing. For Camaïeu/Buzzman, it was about authenticity. Their customers aren’t fashionistas, so why make a commercial pretending they are? The focus on real working women ideally increases brand loyalty,” tweeted one person.
What makes the campaign even more interesting is that Camaïeu didn’t even feature anything from their clothing line in the outdoor billboard advertisements. For brand director Véronique Bacquet, this commitment “is a daring choice”.
“We want to consider women for what they are, and not for what they wear. Namely, their actions, more than appearances, away from Instagram’s hugely worked and filtered fashion images,” shared Bacquet with ‘Fashion Network’.
