When the USA and France were having a tip-toed match at the Tokyo Olympics, this human-sized robot shooting the hoops was sent to ease the atmosphere during the half-time interval.
Not only the audience of the match and the public, but even tech-lovers like Elon Musk seemed to be awed looking at the robot throwing the basketball with such unmatched precision and accuracy.
Watch the robot play:
The six-foot, ten-inch tall black robot completely stole the limelight by first scoring a free throw, then a three-pointer throw and then it moved to the midcourt for a precise half-court throw with immense flair.
The robot is dubbed CUE 3, which is for the third version of this robot, developed by the Japanese automobile manufacturer, Toyota.
When a Twitter user tagged Elon Musk to the video with a caption saying, “AI can do things that only humans could do before”, Musk took to the comments section to reply to the user.
“Computers are absurdly more accurate than humans. How long would it take for a human to render even one frame of a modern video game at low res? The computer will do high res at 120 frames per second. Not a contest,” Musk wrote.
Coming back to the match between USA and France, the USA team led by 11-time NBA All-Star Kevin Durant were beaten 83-76 by France in a huge Olympic basketball upset on Sunday.
