Hyderabad: After Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy’s controversial statement on running bulldozers over those opposing his project, his Cabinet colleague Konda Surekha has kicked up another controversy with her version of the fate awaiting those talking against the project.

During her visit to Warangal on Sunday, the Minister slammed the BRS for instigating people against the government over different programmes. She also charged that BRS was creating conspiracies to create hurdles in taking up the Musi project.

“All those who are opposing the Musi Riverfront Development project will perish like pests,” Surekha said.

Video clips of the Minister are being shared extensively on social media platforms and have gone viral and many are objecting to her remarks.

“It would be wise if the Ministers speak about welfare and development programmes. People elected Congress to power to provide an opportunity to deliver good governance but it is a shame that you are our Ministers,” Sridhar, an X user said.

Earlier, addressing a street corner meeting at Nagireddypally, the Chief Minister had threatened to run bulldozers over anyone who opposes the Musi riverfront development project.

Apart from the BRS and the BJP, who have questioned the project’s cost estimates and the manner in which the Congress government is going about it, those who are opposing the project are the people who are living in the threat of being displaced and losing their homes due to the project.
