Medak: The annual jathara at Sri Sangameshwara Swamy Temple at Kopple in Shankarampet-A mandal saw a huge turnout of devotees on Friday, on the second day of the annual festivities.
Devotees from across Medak and Sangareddy districts and other parts of Telangana came to the temple to offer prayers to the presiding deity. The devotees had a holy dip at the temple Pushkarani before having darshan.
Meanwhile, the annual bullock-cart procession, which attracts a huge number of devotees, was taken out on Friday evening. Farmers from across Shankarampet-A mandal arrived at the temple with their decorated bulls and bullock carts. The bullock-carts were taken out in a procession around the temple. Earlier, the Kalyana Mahotsvam of the presiding deity with his consort was performed following temple traditions. The celestial wedding was witnessed by thousands of devotees.
