Priests perform the Seetha Rama Kalyanam in a grand manner at Seetha Ramachandra Swamy Devasthanams in Bhadrachalam on Sunday.
Kothagudem: The celestial wedding of Lord Rama and his consort Seetha was performed in a grand manner at Sri Seetha Ramachandra Swamy Devasthanam at Bhadrachalam on Sunday.
In the presence of thousands of devotees and amid chanting of Vedic mantras, Mangalyadharana took place in Abhijit Lagnam. The temple was opened at 2 am and suprabhata seva was performed followed by Thiruvaradhana and abhishekam to mulavarulu.
The marriage ceremony began at 10.30 am amidst the throng of devotees in the Mithila ground amidst the chanting of Vedic mantras. First, the marriage idols were brought to the marriage venue in a procession amidst the mela talas and the joyous cheers of the devotees.
Kalyanamurtulu, adorned for the occasion, was brought to Kalyana Mandapam at Mithila Stadium accompanied by Mangalavadyams while the devotees performed Kolatam. The wedding rituals were performed by chief priests Amaravadi Vijayaraghavan and Koti Ramaswaropa Raghavacharyulu, archaka Brahma Amaravadi Srinivasa Ramajunam under the guidance of Sthanacharyulu KE Sthalasai.
On behalf of the government, Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy presented silk clothes and Mutyala Talambralu to the deities. Endowments Minister Konda Surekha, Chief Secretary A Shanti Kumari, and Endowments Principal Secretary Shailaja Ramaiyer also presented silk clothes and Mutyala Talambralu to the deities. On behalf of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam, its chairman B R Naidu presented silk clothes to Lord Rama.
Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, Ministers Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy and Tummala Nageswara Rao, Endowments Commissioner E Sridhar, Telangana High Court Judge Justice Surepalli Nanda, AP High Court Judge Krishna Mohan and others participated in the wedding celebrations.
District Collector Jitesh V Patil supervised the arrangements in the sectors, while SP B Rohith Raju monitored the security arrangements. Governor Jishnu Dev Varma will attend Lord Rama’s Pattabhisheka Mahotsavam on Monday.
