Mancherial: Three Anganwadi supervisors from Chennur Integrated Child Development Scheme (ICDS) project were suspended for dereliction of duties in controlling the diversion of eggs and milk meant for children, on Friday. An order was issued by Divya Devarajan, the Commissioner of Women and Child Welfare Department on Thursday.
According to the order, Vemanapalli mandal supervisor Padma, her counterparts of Kotapalli and Jaipuri, Rani and Rajeshwari, respectively were placed under suspension. Similarly, a memo was issued to Chennur Child Development Project Officer (CDPO) Manoram as to why action should not be taken against her.
On November 1, five Anganwadi teachers and a trolley driver were booked for allegedly diverting the eggs and milk in Naspur. The accused trolley driver Narella Santosh was caught transporting 150 eggs and scores of milk sachets. He revealed that he had collected the eggs and milk from Anganwadi teachers Saroja, Jayaprada, Manemma, Rani and Laxmi working in different parts under Chennur CDPO.
