Mahabubabad: The Bayyaram police arrested three persons in connection with an alleged case of cannabis (ganja) smuggling and seized 65 kgs of ganja packed in 20 packets on the outskirts of Kothapeta village on Saturday during a vehicle check-up. The worth of seized dry ganja is estimated at Rs 6. 50 lakh. The arrested have been identified as Bhukya Tirupati, Boda Devender and Bhukya Rajender. All three are from Gundla Singaram village near Hanamkonda. “We have registered a case against the accused under section 8(C) R/W 20 (B) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (NDPS Act),” said Bayyaram Sub-Inspector K Jagdish.
