Three arrested for assaulting doctor at Mancherial Government Hospital
Police arrested three persons for allegedly assaulting a duty doctor at the Government General Hospital in Mancherial. The accused reportedly attacked the doctor while under the influence of liquor. Authorities warned of strict action against assaults on healthcare professionals.
Mancherial: Three persons were arrested on charges of assaulting a doctor of the Government General Hospital-Mancherial, here on Friday evening.
Police said that Gotte Pavan Tej, Gotte Sampath and Jadi Vignesh from Tilaknagar were arrested for their alleged role in thrashing Dr Jayaprakash, a duty doctor of the GGH, under the influence of liquor, when they visited the hospital for some medical investigations on January 29. The three were sent to judicial remand.
A case was already registered against the three based on a complaint from Jayaprakash. Investigations were taken up. Police warned people of stringent action against those who indulge in assaults on doctors of both government and private sectors and damage property of healthcare institutions.
