Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Task Force on Thursday raided a gaming house at Ramkote in Sultan Bazaar and arrested three persons for organising cricket betting in connection with the ongoing Big Bash League cricket matches in Australia.
The police seized Rs 1 lakh, mobile phones and other material from D Abhishek, the main organiser from Sultan Bazaar, Jatin Masrane, a punter from Barkatpura and Dinesh from Balkampet. Police said Abhishek was organizing cricket betting clandestinely at rented premises in Sultan Bazaar with the help of a cricket bookie from Goa.
“Using cricket apps which provide online scores, ball to ball, as well as betting ratios, they collected bets from punters,” said an official.
