Hassan: In a shocking incident in the Pension Mohalla police station limits of Hassan district, a differently abled young woman was allegedly gang-raped by three men, who recorded the assault on video and sent it to the victim’s brother.
The arrested accused have been identified as Abdul Aftab, Razik Pasha and Umran. According to police, the crime came to light when the victim’s brother received a disturbing video on his mobile phone showing his sister being assaulted by the accused. Horrified, he approached the Pension Mohalla police station and lodged a formal complaint.
Preliminary investigations suggest that the accused not only committed the assault but also filmed the act, possibly to intimidate or humiliate the victim and her family. After sending the video to the victim’s brother, the accused reportedly deleted it. However, the victim’s brother had already forwarded the clip to a friend, ensuring it could be used as evidence.
Police registered a case under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and other applicable laws, including those related to sexual offences and the protection of persons with disabilities. The three accused were tracked down and taken into custody.
Authorities have assured that the investigation is ongoing, with forensic analysis of the video and the victim’s medical examination forming crucial parts of the case. Senior officers said the police will ensure a watertight case to secure maximum punishment for the accused.
The incident has sparked outrage in Hassan, with local residents demanding speedy justice and stronger measures to protect vulnerable women from such crimes.
