Hyderabad: The Kukatpally police solved the murder case of Syed Shahed (26), a rowdy sheeter and textile trader, reported early this week and arrested three persons on Wednesday. A previous enmity and rivalry between them led to the killing, police said.
The arrested trio was identified as Y Hanak, a private employee from Borabanda, Mohd Sajid, an AC technician from Moula Ali, and Mohd Sameer Khan, an interiors worker from Borabanda.
Syed Shahed from Borabanda, who had an active rowdy sheet maintained against him in the local police station, had a long-standing rivalry with Sameer. According to the police, the suspects, who were close associates of the victim, had plotted to eliminate him in order to establish themselves as rowdy sheeters in the locality.
On June 29, as per their plan, taking advantage of the birthday of Pavan, their mutual friend, the trio called Shahed to an open ground near Dev Istana Homes in Prakash Nagar.
“They had a liquor party at the spot. After consuming liquor together, Sajid stabbed Shahed in the throat with a liquor bottle. Sameer and Hanak bludgeoned his head with rocks, killing him on the spot,” said K Suresh Kumar, DCP, Balanagar.
The trio was produced before the court and remanded in judicial custody.
