Three chain snatchers held in Narsingi

Hyderabad: The Narsingi police on Thursday nabbed three chain snatchers and recovered gold ornaments and motorcycles, all worth about Rs 4 lakh from them.

The suspects — Afroz Khan (22), Mohd Amer (21), both from Tolichowki and P.Krishna (24), from Patel Nagar in Jubilee Hills, were allegedly involved in 22 cases in Hyderabad and Cyberabad, police said.

Police said the suspects selected secluded lanes and snatched the gold chains, cash bags, mobile phones and other valuables from woman walking alone. The gang was involved in chain snatching offences in Banjara Hills, Langar Houz, Humanyun Nagar, Golconda and Asif Nagar.

Following a series of chain snatching incidents recently, the Narsingi police jointly with the Madhapur Special Operations Team identified the suspects with the help of footage of surveillance cameras and nabbed them.
