Three children drown in temple tank in Jagtial
Three children tragically drowned in the temple koneru at Kondapur, Medipalli mandal, Jagtial district, after entering the water to swim. Despite being rushed to hospital, they were declared brought dead.
Jagtial: In a tragic incident, three children drowned in the ‘koneru‘ (temple tank) of a temple in Kondapur of Medipally mandal on Wednesday.
According to villagers, Manvith (11), Manasvi (9) and Sharvind (7) went to the local Shivaganga temple in the afternoon.
Later, they got down into koneru to have a swim. However, the trio drowned in the water as they did not know how to swim.
While drowning in the water, the children cried for help. Local people rushed to the spot and retrieved them from the tank. Subsequently, the rescued children were shifted to Jagtial hospital where they were declared brought dead by doctors.
Manvith and Manasvi are the children of Bharathi and Bhushanam and Sharvind is the son of Bhargavi and Shekhar. On learning about the incident, police visited the spot and began investigation by registering a case.
