Hyderabad: Green India Challenge is gearing up to plant three crore saplings in an hour on across the State on July 24 to mark Industries Minister KT Rama Rao’s birthday.
Green India Challenge founder and Rajya Sabha MP Joginipally Santosh Kumar on Tuesday released a brochure on Mukkoti Vruksharchana, a special programme to plant three crore saplings in an hour on July 24 across the State.

Addressing on the occasion, he said Minister KT Rama Rao along with the party cadre was committed to the growth of Telangana and is following the path laid by Chief Minister K. Chandraskhekar Rao. “We took up Koti Vruksharchana in February on the occasion of CM KCR garu’s birthday and this is another attempt to gift KTR garu by planting three crore saplings, on his birthday” said Santosh Kumar and appealed to the people to take part in the programme and do their bit for the environment.
He also expressed happiness that Green India Challenge was being organized across the state of Telangana and in the country without any disruptions.
On July 4, Green India Challenge planted one million saplings in one hour on the occasion of MLA Jogu Ramanna’s 58th birthday in Adilabad district. The video recordings of this programme have been sent to Guinness Book of World Record. It also received appreciation certificate from the representatives of Wonder Book of Records for successfully executing the task in Durga Nagar region.
Ministers Mahmood Ali, Jagadish Reddy, Talasani Srinivasa Yadav, Srinivas Goud, MP Keshava Rao, Government Whip Balka suman, MLAs Gadari kishore, Sanampudi Saidi Reddy also participated in the programme to launch the brochure. MP K. Keshava Rao congratulated Joginipally Santosh Kumar for coming up with innovative programs and popularizing Green India Challenge, said a press release.
