Three die of suspected sunstroke amid severe heatwave in Adilabad
Three persons died of suspected sunstroke in separate incidents in erstwhile Adilabad district on Saturday amid severe heatwave conditions. Victims included a hostel employee, a farm labourer and a daily wage worker, highlighting the rising toll of extreme temperatures.
Adilabad: Scorching heat wave conditions take a toll. In three different incidents, three persons died of sunstroke in erstwhile Adilabad district on Saturday.
In the first incident, Jadhav Lalitha Bai (54) from Borigaon village in Neradigonda mandal fell ill in the afternoon. She was immediately shifted to a hospital in Nirmal. She breathed her while undergoing treatment. She was working with a ST hostel in Utnoor. Her family members urged the ITDA-Utnoor to extend financial aid to her kin.
In the second instance, Athram Ramu (44), a farm laborer of Kuchulapur village in Thamsi mandal suffered nausea and vomiting. He died while being shifted to RIMS-Adilabad. He is survived by a wife and two children.
Meanwhile, Kova Kiran Kumar (27), a daily-wage earner from Ghanpur in Utnoor mandal collapsed at a bus station in Jannaram mandal centre. He was alleged to have died of sunstroke. He left home stating he would repair his mobile phone, but did not return till evening. He was a beneficiary of the National Rural Employment Guarantee Act.
