Mancherial: Three foresters were suspended for showing negligence in protection of wild and wildlife animals in Jannaram. An order to this effect was issued by Field Director to Tiger Project CP Vinod Kumar on Sunday.
According to the order, the foresters who were placed under suspension included Jannaram FRO Venkateshwar Rao, Anti-poaching squad Range Officer Kalpana Devi and Chintaguda Forest Section Officer Waheda Parveena. The three foresters were punished for gross negligence of duties in protecting the wild.
It is learned that 16 teak trees were cut by smugglers in Paidipalli forest beat in Jannaram forest range and teak timber was smuggled in Dimmadurthi beat due to negligence of the foresters. One of the officials reportedly connived with smugglers who were involved in destruction of the forest cover.
