Three held for attempting to rob bank in Adilabad
Three members of a gang who allegedly attempted to rob a bank in Adilabad were arrested while, other three are absconding

Adilabad: Three members of a gang that allegedly attempted to rob a bank by drilling a hole into the bank’s wall at Ramayi village in Adilabad Rural mandal were arrested on Saturday. An LPG cylinder, a gas cutter and digging bar were seized from their possession. Three more members of the gang were absconding.
Superintendent of Police Akhil Mahajan, briefing details of the arrests, said Dagad Sai, Ashok and Minugu Rajeshwar were apprehended for their role in a vain bid to steal cash from the Telangana Grameena Bank by trying to break into it using gas cutters on the night of December 12.
Manikantha, Jadav Raju and Pushpa alias Pavan were still at large. Chavan Ravi, the kingpin of the gang, Sunny and Govindudu Kartheek were arrested earlier too for other crimes.
On being interrogated, the three confessed to the robbery attempt and said they had fled the spot when the bank alarm went off. They disclosed that they hatched a plan to rob the bank while dining in a dhaba located beside a national highway 10 days before committing the offence.
