Hyderabad: Three siblings, including a woman, who filed a false complaint of their house being burgled, were arrested by the Neredmet police here on Tuesday.
The arrested persons were K Sudhakar Yadav (50), K Prabhakar Yadav (54) and K Nagalaxmi (52), all residents of Neredmet. Police said the trio, who found it difficult to manage the medical expenses for the treatment of their critically-ill mother K Anasuya (71), plotted to sell off her valuables without her knowledge and use it for the treatment.
Meanwhile, on Sunday, unidentified persons broke into Sudhakar’s house and made a futile burglary attempt. Taking advantage of the situation, the trio decided to file a false complaint that their house was burgled and valuables worth Rs 25 lakh were stolen.
Nagalaxmi lodged a complaint stating that cash and ornaments worth Rs 25 lakh were stolen from her house. Since it was a fake complaint, a suo motu case was booked against the trio and they were arrested.
