Three held in Hyderabad for illegal sale of tobacco products

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Commissioner’s Task Force team on Sunday caught three persons who were involved in illegal sale of tobacco products at Bowenpally. The police seized Rs 6 lakh worth products from them.

Acting on a tip off, the Task Force (North) team caught K Mallikarjun (40) of Bowenpally, Suresh Ram (36) of Balanagar and Sitharam (22) of Jagadgirigutta while their associate Dinesh Kumar managed to give the slip to the police and escaped.


“The gang was sourcing tobacco products from Bidar in Karnataka and supplying it to their customers in Secunderabad. On information, they were caught and gutkha, pan masala and other tobacco products were seized from them,” said P Radha Kishan Rao, DCP Task Force.

The three persons along with the property were handed over to the Bowenpally police station for further action.
