Mancherial: Three persons were arrested for allegedly cheating a man under the guise of floating a financial firm with one of them posing as an intelligence department official. A duplicate pistol, car, fake letter heads of Information Technology Minister K T Rama Rao, stamps, vouchers and cheque books of various banks were seized from their possession.
Giving details of the arrests, Mancherial ACP Akhil Mahajan said the accused were Chintapandu Suresh, a resident of Bellampalli town and Kashetti Praveen and Kashetti Swamy belonging to Mancherial town. The trio was held when moving suspiciously during a vehicle check.
During the course of interrogation, Suresh confessed to committing the crime to make a quick buck with the help of Praveen and Swamy. He confessed that they had taken Rs 4.90 lakh from one Bolishetti Srinivas under the pretext of setting up a chit fund company by posing as an Intelligence officer.
The ACP requested the public not to fall prey to such elements who promise high returns. He commended Mancherial Inspector ML Muttulingaiah and Srirampur Inspector Kumaraswamy for showing their quick response that led to the arrest of the three.
