Three held with hashish oil in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: The Balanagar Police Special Operations Team along with the Medchal police busted an interstate drug racket operating between Andhra Pradesh and Hyderabad and arrested three persons on Thursday. Hashish oil and other material together worth Rs.12.7 lakh was seized from them.

The arrested persons were B.Vishwanatham (27), a businessman from Pragathi Nagar, A Sravan (24), a hardware shop worker from Pragathi Nagar and B.Shyam Sunder Rao (25) an event organizer from Kukatpally. The main supplier, Dasharath from Lambasingi of Andhra Pradesh, was absconding.

Balanagar DCP G.Sundeep said Vishwanatham was involved in peddling hashish oil from the agency areas of Visakhapatnam for the last eight months. He procured the oil from Dasharath for Rs.30,000 per litre and smuggled it to Hyderabad to sell.

On March 15, Vishwanatham, along with Sravan and Shyam Sunder Rao, went to Lambasingi and purchased hashish oil for Rs.60,000 and concealing it under the car seat, were on their way to Hyderabad. Based on a tip-off, the police caught them.
