Three hospital staffers lose job in Khammam
Staff nurse and 2 outsourcing staff were caught red-handed while selling six vials of Remdesivir for Rs 38,000 to outsiders
Khammam: A staff nurse and two outsourcing staff working at Government District Hospital were removed from service for selling Remdesivir injection vials in black market in Khammam, District Collector RV Karnan said on Thursday.
In a statement here, the Collector warned that criminal cases would be booked and stringent action would be taken against those resorting to black marketing of medicines. He directed that medical officers at the hospital take measures to prevent such incidents in future.
The doctors at the hospital should be alert and administer the injections to patients who require the medication based on their health condition and the Superintendent should monitor the process every day, Karnan suggested.
The staff nurse and outsourcing staff, whose names were not revealed, were arrested by Task Force Inspector of Police Venu Madhav and Sub-Inspector of Police Sathish Kumar in a raid near the District Hospital on Wednesday night.
They were caught red-handed while selling six vials of Remdesivir injection, meant for patients’ use at the District Hospital, for Rs 38,000 to outsiders. The arrested health staff were handed over to two town police for further action, informed ACP (Task Force) Ramanujam.
