Three Hospitals seized for violating govt rules in Khammam
New Hope Hospital, Prasanthi Hospital and Ganesh Hospital were found violating government rules pertaining to Covid treatment.
Khammam: The district Covid Task Force has seized three private hospitals in Khammam for violating government rules and collecting exorbitant fees from patients.
In a statement late on Sunday evening, the DM&HO, Dr. B Malathi, informed that the Task Force team conducted surprise inspections at the hospitals following complaints from patients undergoing treatment in these hospitals.
During the inspection, New Hope Hospital, Prasanthi Hospital and Ganesh Hospital were found violating government rules pertaining to Covid treatment.
Prashanti Hospital management which obtained permission for treating 20 Covid patients was providing treatment to 82 patients and the department had already served a notice to the hospital management but it failed to comply, Dr. Malathi said.
The managements of Ganesh Hospital and New Hope Hospital had neither registered with the health department nor had permission to treat Covid patients, she added.
