Mahabubabad: The escalating water crisis in Mahabubabad district resulted in a violent confrontation between two villages.

Farmers from Ammapuram GK Tanda and Balaji Tanda, two villages that relied on water from the DPM-57 canal at Mylaram under SRSP project Stage II to save their standing crops, attacked each other following heated arguments over water release.

Three farmers Banoth Mangya, Ajmeera Ramesh, and Guguloth Biksham were brutally attacked by residents of Balaji Tanda as they questioned denial of water release to their lands.

One of the farmers Ajmeera Ramesh, who came under attack was thrown into the canal, but he was luckily rescued by the onlookers. Farmers who tried to pacify the violent groups also came under attack.
