Three Hyderabad paddlers selected for World Universities Games
Snehit, the Youth National Champion and winner of bronze medal in recently-concluded Senior National TT Championships, was the No.1 in the selection trials
Hyderabad: Osmania University’s S Fidel R Snehit, Md. Ali (men) and Varuni Jaiswal (women) got selected to represent Indian Universities in the World Universities championships to be held in Chengdu from August 18 to 29.
Snehit, the Youth National Champion and winner of bronze medal in recently-concluded Senior National TT Championships, was the No.1 in the selection trials held in Jain Global Campus, Bengaluru on Saturday.
Snehit beat Akash Pal of Bengal in the finals 4-0 and defeated his college mate and friend Md.Ali in semifinals 4-3 to be the No.1. Snehit and Ali are the students of St Joseph’s Degree and PG College in King Koti, Hyderabad.
The College Principal Father Marreddy and Manager K. Sridhar Reddy congratulated the team.
Varuni Jaiswal is a student of St Mary’s College, Yousufguda. Wajahat acted as the coach of the Osmania University team in the selections.
