Three, including two minors, booked by Khammam police for gang rape of minor

Khammam: Two minor boys and a youngster were booked by Konijerla police in the district in connection with the gang rape of a minor girl that took place on October 31.
According to police, the accused youth, Kadiyala Aravind of BC Colony in Konijerla mandal, along with his two minor accomplices, all belonging to a family, raped a 13-year-old girl studying in Class 8. It was said that the girl’s parents left the girl with her grandmother while they were away in Hyderabad for work. The girl went to church with her grandmother and returned home alone to go to the toilet at around 6 pm.
The accused forcibly dragged the girl into the house of one of the accused and committed the crime by holding her hands behind and closing her mouth. They threatened to kill her if she shouted. The girl managed to run away and went home.
The same day at 9 pm, the accused again barged into her house and forcibly dragged the girl into the trees near her house and tried to rape her. When she screamed loudly, her brother-in-law, who was in the house, came out, seeing which they left her and ran away.
Based on the complaint of the girl’s father, Konijerla police registered an FIR against the accused under Sections 70(2) (gang rape) and 351(3) (criminal intimidation) of BNS and Section 5 read with 6 of the POCSO Act-2012. The police have taken the accused into custody.
The girl was taken to the Bala Raksha Bhavan, where she was being counselled. The girl’s family demanded severe punishment for the three accused. Locals believed that the accused committed the heinous crime under the influence of ganja.
