Kumram Bheem Asifabad: Three persons, including a woman, were arrested on Wednesday for allegedly murdering a young electrician at Kondapalli village in Penchikalpet mandal on Monday night. The accused were presented before the media in Kagaznagar. Police seized three mobile phones and an axe from them.
According to the police, Potte Rajanna, his wife Rajitha, and his brother Lachanna, all residents of Kondapalli, were apprehended for their involvement in the murder of Deekonda Sridhar Chary (25), an electrician from the same village. The trigger to the murder was an alleged affair between Sridhar and Rajitha. Based on a complaint lodged by Sridhar’s mother, Sulochana, six persons, including the three arrested, were booked for hacking him to death.
During interrogation, Rajanna confessed to committing the murder with the help of five others, including his wife, out of anger over Sridhar’s closeness with Rajitha. He admitted to harbouring a grudge against Sridhar for the alleged affair. Rajitha told police that she had called Sridhar to the backyard of their house, where he was murdered around 9 pm on Monday.
Police said they were verifying the call data records of the remaining three accused to confirm their involvement and would arrest them soon.
