Hyderabad: Three persons, including a father and son, were killed when their car crashed into a truck on the Outer Ring Road at Pedda Amberpet in Abdullapurmet on Tuesday.
The victims were identified as Upendranath (48), his son Roshik (22) and Upendranath’s colleague Prabhakar Rao (43), all residents of Saroornagar.
A truck from Amaravati in Andhra Pradesh heading towards Medak district had broken down on the Outer Ring Road, with the driver Shaik John Saida parking it on the road without the mandatory warning signs. According to the police, around 6 am, when the trio reached the spot, Rao who was driving did not notice that the truck was not moving and lost control of the steering, with the car crashing into the truck.
All three died on the spot, police said, adding that other motorists passing by alerted the Abdullapurmet police, who retrieved the bodies from the car and shifted them to Gandhi Hospital for autopsy. The police have booked a case of negligence causing death and injuries and have taken up investigation. The bodies were handed over to the families later in the day while the truck driver was taken into custody.
