Mancherial: In a freak mishap, three youngsters were killed and two others sustained critical injuries when two motorcycles collided with each other on a bridge across Pranahita river on the outskirts of Rapanapalli village in Kotapalli mandal on Saturday. The condition of the two injured youngsters was said to be stable.

Kotapalli Sub-Inspector Ravi Kumar said the deceased were identified as Challa Suman (23), Madimudugla Revanth (22), and Parsha Ramprasad (29), all residents of Aniksa village in Sironcha Taluq in Gadchiroli district of Maharashtra. The injured were Jakkula Nithin belonging to Chennur town and Challa Ravi of Ankisa.

Both Revanth and Ramprasad died on the spot due to fatal injuries they received when the two speeding motorbikes dashed into each other on the bridge. Suman breathed his last while undergoing treatment at a hospital in Sironcha. Nithin was shifted to Mancherial, while Ravi was rushed to MGM Hospital in Warangal. Their medical condition is out of danger.

Suman and Ravi were visiting relatives at Babbera Cheluka village in Kotapalli mandal, while Revanth and Ramprasad were returning to Ankisa village after watching a movie in Chennur at the time of the mishap. Over-speed of motorcycles is the cause of the mishap, stated policemen.

Challa Srinivas, father of Suman victims, lodged a complaint with police. A case was registered and investigations were taken up. Post-mortem of the bodies was held at Chennur government hospital.
