Three killed, two injured in accident near Bibinagar

Three people, including a young couple, were killed and two others injured after a speeding car hit a median and pedestrians near Bibinagar early Sunday. The impact caused major traffic disruption, and police have launched an investigation into the crash.

Bhongir: Three persons were killed and two others injured in a road accident near Bibinagar in the early hours of Sunday. The mishap, which occurred around 4.30 am, caused heavy traffic congestion on the busy stretch, with vehicles backed up for several kilometres.

Eyewitnesses said a speeding car carrying four occupants veered off the road and hit the median divider. The impact was so severe that the vehicle struck a young couple standing by the roadside, leading to the man’s instant death. The woman was flung into a nearby pond and drowned.

Rescue personnel retrieved her body from the water, but doctors at the hospital declared her dead on arrival. Inside the car, a 32-year-old man from Hyderabad, who was trapped in the mangled remains of the vehicle, also died on the spot.

The driver and another passenger sustained multiple injuries, including fractures and head trauma. They were shifted to the government hospital in Bhongir, where doctors said their condition was ‘critical but stable’.

Bibinagar police registered a case and are investigating.
