Three of a family drown in lake in Sangareddy

Three members of a family drowned in a lake on the outskirts of Manoor mandal headquarters in Sangareddy district on Friday. The woman reportedly slipped into the water, and her husband and brother-in-law drowned while attempting to rescue her.

Police said Narsimha Reddy (35), his wife Krishnaveni (32) and his younger brother Sangameshwar Reddy (30) went to the lake to wash clothes when Krishnaveni slipped into the water.

In an attempt to rescue her, Narsimha Reddy and his brother also drowned.

Harshavardhan, the deceased couple’s son, tried to save them by calling the neighbours. However, the three disappeared into the water before help arrived. Their bodies were later retrieved.

The deaths left the entire village in shock. The police have registered a case.
