Three pilgrims from Telangana die in road accident in Karnataka

Three pilgrims from Narayankhed mandal in Telangana died and two others were injured in a road accident near Humnabad, Karnataka, on Wednesday. The devotees were returning from the Dattatreya Temple in Gangapur after offering prayers on Karthika Pournami.

Sangareddy: Three pilgrims from Jagannathpur in Narayankhed mandal, who had travelled to the Dattatreya Temple in Gangapur, Karnataka, died in a road accident near Humnabad in the early hours of Wednesday, while two others sustained injuries.

The victims were identified as Naveen (22), Rajappa (45) and Nagaraju (48), and the injured were Prathap and Kasinath.

The five devotees had travelled from Narayankhed to Gangapur by car to offer prayers on the occasion of Karthika Pournami and were returning home when their vehicle collided with an oncoming car.

The injured were rushed to the government hospital in Bidar, and the bodies of the deceased were taken to a local government hospital for postmortem. The condition of the injured is said to be critical. Relatives and friends left for Bidar upon receiving information about the accident.
