Hyderabad: The Prisons Department authorities have suspended three officials in connection with the incident in which a remand prisoner briefly escaped from the Central Prison in Cherlapalli earlier this week.
The officials suspended include jail warden Bharat and assistant deputy jailors Subba Raju and Vasanth Kumar.
On Sunday, inmate Shanth Kumar, a native of Bihar, was assigned the task of painting the walls. Taking advantage of the assignment, he scaled the boundary wall and escaped.
Prison officials discovered his absence soon after and immediately launched a search operation by forming special teams and coordinating with the local police. He was nabbed shortly after, following a swift response from jail officials and police teams.
