Adilabad: Three real estate agents were arrested for allegedly duping a woman by selling house sites using fabricated ownership documents. The accused persons were produced before mediapersons at Mavala mandal centre on Tuesday. Two more accused persons were absconding.

Briefing details of the arrests, Mavala Inspector BD Premkumar said Tokala Buchanna, Bolli Raju and Elti Laxman Reddy, all from different parts of the district, were apprehended for allegedly cheating B Pushpalatha from the town by selling six house sites under the limits of Battisavargaon village for Rs 42 lakh by forging the signatures of officials and fabricating land titles.

Enugu Naveen Kumar from Rampur and Bale Narsimhulu of Kapparla village were still at large. The three reportedly confessed to committing the offence. They admitted to creating fake land titles by forging the signatures of revenue officials. They were produced before a court and sent to judicial remand.

Pushpalatha realised that she had been duped after she failed to locate the house sites and could not construct boundaries. She approached the police when the agents admitted to committing the offence and delayed repayment of the amount. The police registered a case and took up investigations. A search was launched to nab the two accused persons.
