Kumram Bheem Asifabad: Three workers sustained serious injuries when they fell off an iron bridge under construction near Kagaznagar town on Wednesday. The bridge is being constructed by Indian Railways on the third railway line across Peddavagu.

Reports reaching here said that three workers hired for the construction of the bridge sustained injuries after they slipped and fell off the upper portion of the iron blocks while carrying out work. They suffered profuse bleeding after falling. Two workers were rescued and sent to a hospital, while another worker was still stuck between an iron block and the tracks. A rescue operation was launched to extricate him.

South Central Railway officials rushed to the spot and began efforts to save the life of the worker. They engaged experts to rescue him, while a medical team was deployed to provide necessary support. The iron bridge is being constructed on the third line between Kazipet and Balharshah junctions.

Colleagues of the workers expressed concern over their safety at the work site. They said that they were discharging duties in dangerous conditions, risking their lives. They demanded compensation for the injured workers. They urged Railway officials to take steps to enhance safety at the site and prevent similar accidents in future.
