Tiger continues cattle killings in Siddipet villages, forest officials on alert

An elusive tiger attacked and killed cattle in Siddipet’s Ghanapur, Akkenapally, and Baswapuram villages over the weekend. Forest officials are tracking the predator using pugmarks and camera traps to prevent further livestock losses.

Hyderabad: The elusive tiger continued its cattle killing spree on Saturday night in villages of Siddipet mandal.
The tiger attacked and killed cattle at Ghanapur village, Akkenapally and Baswapuram villages in the district.

At Ghanpur, the tiger killed a calf belonging to a farmer Bal Reddy. He had tied to animals near the agriculture field the previous evening.


On Sunday morning when he came to the cattle shed, he found a calf killed and another seriously wounded. The tiger headed in north direction towards the Ankenapally and Baswapuram villages and killed cattle.

On information the forest officials reached the place and started to track the pugmarks of the tiger. The forest officials are setting up camera traps at the places where the cattle was killed.
