Forest department officials said a cow belonging to Muktyar Ahmed was mauled to death by the big cat on the fringes of the forest near the village. Pugmarks of the carnivore were seen at the spot. Awareness was being created among farmers and rural folks over the presence of tigers. People were requested to avoid sudden confrontation with the solitary animal, stated officials.
It is learned that K Bhumesh, a local raised alarm and tried to rescue the cattle, but in vain. The news went viral on social media platforms. Tigers inhabiting the wild of Penchikalpet region continue to attack cattle in forest fringe villages, panicking rural folks.
People living in the countryside requested the officials of the forest department to take steps for diverting the big cat into the wild.
