Kumram Bheem Asifabad: A tiger killed a teenaged tribal girl when she was plucking cotton in Kondapalli village of Penchikalpet mandal on Sunday. Five other women managed to escape from the tiger attack. This is the second incident of tiger attack to be reported in Kaghaznagar forest division in a span of 18 days.
Sources said the deceased was Pasula Nirmala (17), daughter of Posham, a native of Kondapalli village.
Nirmala succumbed to serious wounds caused by tiger that attacked Nirmala and five tribal women were engaged in plucking cotton in a field located on the village fringe at around 2pm. The agriculture land is owned by a tribal farmer. The shocked women ran away from the spot and alerted the locals who found the girl in a pool of blood.
“A tiger which was on prowl in a bush pounced on the girl from the back. She suffered serious injuries and was bleeding profusely leading to her dath,” a local told ‘Telangana Today.’
Penchikalpet Forest Range Officer confirmed the death caused by the tiger and said he was rushing to the spot for further inquiries into the incident.
A tiger from neighbouring Maharashtra killed a tribal youngster Sidam Vignesh (23) of Digida village in Dahegaon mandal, while he was fishing in a stream on November 11.
