Kumram Bheem Asifabad: The movement of a tiger triggered panic among residents of Bejjur mandal centre on Monday after locals claimed to have spotted pugmarks in the riverbed of a stream on the outskirts of the mandal headquarters. They urged Forest officials to track the animal’s movement and take steps to prevent any threat to human life, saying they had been living in fear since the sightings.
Forest officials who inspected the spot confirmed that the pugmarks belonged to a tiger and appealed to residents to remain cautious. They said animal trackers had been deployed to follow the tiger’s trail, while CCTV cameras were being installed to capture its movement. Locals were advised to avoid venturing out alone and to move in groups.
