Tiger on prowl in Yadadri: Forest teams on alert in Turkapally
Tiger trackers and forest officials are closely monitoring the movement of a tiger in Turkapally mandal, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district, to prevent human-animal conflict. Tension rose in Thirumalapuram village after a villager reported hearing the tiger growl near his field.

Hyderabad: Tiger trackers continue to monitor the movement of the tiger at Turkapally mandal in Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district even as the forest department deployed its personnel in full strength to prevent any human-animal conflict.
The forest department had deployed a team of five tiger trackers to help the local forest authorities.
On Friday evening around 6.30 pm, tension in the Thirumalapuram village of Turkapally mandal escalated after a villager P Sandeep, who was near his agricultural field, heard the tiger growling and informed the village sarpanch Venkatesh Yadav.
The forest officials were alerted and again the local beat officers and staff visited the village. The local residents were again alerted against venturing in the forest fringes alone and moving around in the village at night.
The forest officials on Friday morning had visited the Dattaipally village where the animal attacked and killed two cows and a calf on Monday afternoon. The team also visited Thirumalapuram and Srinivaspur villages and interacted with the villagers.
The tiger is believed to have crossed over into Telangana from adjoining Maharashtra. Its presence in Yadadri Bhuvanagiri came to light on January 17 when a farmer noticed its pug marks in his field. The next day January 18, in the early hours, the tiger attacked two calves on the outskirts of Ibrahimpur village in Turkapally mandal.
