Kumram Bheem Asifabad: A tiger was killed, reportedly after being run over by a train, on the outskirts of Sirpur (T) mandal and in the forests of Manikgarh and Virur villages in Rajura taluka of Maharashtra’s Chandrapur district on Sunday.

Telangana Forest officials said their counterparts from Maharashtra received information of a tiger’s death caused when it was mowed down by a speeding train while crossing a railway track in Rajura taluka. They stated that further details such as gender and age were not disclosed.

The officials suspected that the tiger inhabiting Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve in Chandrapur district might have been killed while attempting to cross the railway tracks.
