Tight security in place for Ganesh idol immersion in Warangal

CP Sunpreet Singh, Collector Satya Sharada, Municipal Commissioner Chahat Bajpai inspected arrangements for Ganesh immersion at Chinna Waddepally tank in Hanamkonda.
Warangal: Warangal: Commissioner of Police Sunpreet Singh said tight security arrangements were made for peaceful Ganesh immersion in the central, east, and west zones under the Warangal Police Commissionerate.
As many as 2,100 police personnel, including four DCPs, two Additional DCPs, 15 ACPs, 53 Inspectors, 70 SIs, ASIs, head constables, constables, and Home Guards would be on duty in the three zones, he said.
Over 1,600 police personnel would be deployed in the tri-city area. A large number of CCTV cameras and drone cameras have been installed to ensure the smooth conduct of the procession and idol immersion, the CP said.
Traffic would be diverted on Friday to avoid disruption on Ganesh procession routes, and traffic personnel have been deployed at all important junctions and routes. The organisers of the procession should ensure peaceful conduct, and the use of DJ systems is completely banned.
Vehicles should not be parked near prayer halls, bursting of firecrackers has been prohibited, organisers should monitor overhead electric wires, and children should not be brought to the immersion areas. If anyone participates in the procession under the influence of alcohol, action would be taken against them, he warned.
The CP, along with District Collector Satya Sharada, Municipal Commissioner Chahat Bajpai, Mayor Gundu Sudharani, and others inspected the arrangements for Ganesh immersion at Chinna Waddepally tank on Thursday.
