Hyderabad: India’s star batter Tilak Varma, who has been recently included in the Indian team for the T-20 World Cup scheduled to be held in February in India and Sri Lanka, has undergone a surgery which is said to testicular on Wednesday and would need three to four weeks to recover, according to a Hyderabad Cricket Association official.
Further details are awaited, according to the official.
Tilak, who is currently leading Hyderabad in the Vijay Hazare Trophy one-day cricket championship matches in Rajkot, didn’t figure in the playing eleven on Thursday for the match against Jammu & Kashmir and left-arm pacer Chama Milind is leading the team.
Though Tilak might miss almost the entire home T20I series against New Zealand, the Hyderabad captain should be fit in time for the T-20 World Cup with India taking on USA in the opener at Wankhede Stadium on February 7.
