Deputy Forest Range Officer T Venkateshwar Rao was suspended for failing to prevent irregularities in timber sales at Sri Venkateshwara Saw Mill located in Kothagudem
Kothagudem: A deputy forest range officer was suspended and a saw mill was seized for alleged discrepancies in timber stocks at the mill. According to Kothagudem Forest Divisional Officer A Appaiah, Deputy Forest Range Officer T Venkateshwar Rao was suspended for failing to prevent irregularities in timber sales at Sri Venkateshwara Saw Mill located in Kothagudem.
The proprietor of Sri Venkateshwara Saw Mill, which was seized by the officials, was accused of selling timber without maintaining proper records. During inspections at the saw mill, discrepancies were found in the timber stocks. Three teams inspected the timber stocks at the mill.
Any violation in timber usage would be dealt with seriously, warned Appaiah while appealing to the public to alert officials about illegal timber sale or transportation.
