Warangal Urban: Stating that Telangana Minority Residential Educational Institutions (TMREIS) are a boon to Muslim children, social activists and Ph D scholars in the Department of English at Kakatiya University (KU), Mohammad Azam urged the Muslims to make use of the opportunity to get quality education.
In a press release here on Friday, Azam said Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao’s government had set up 204 residential schools in 2017 academic year for the under-privileged sections of Minorities and now 120 of them were upgraded to junior colleges. “Some of them have been accorded Center of Excellence (CoE) status to offer IIT, JEE, EAMCET, Civil services and other competitive coaching. This is a landmark initiative by the government of Telangana, thousands of students getting quality education in these schools and colleges through this residential institutions,” he said and expressed his concern over the poor admissions in these Minority residential Educational institutions.
“It is our responsibility to spread awareness about the importance of education as well as Minority Residential Educational institutions among the poor Muslims,” he added.
Telangana Minority residential institutions society extended the last date of online submission of application form for admission into V,VI,VII,VIII and Intermediate first year for the academic year 2020-21 through mobile app or online up to May 31, 2021, he said and added that the people can contact the District Minority welfare officers (DMWO), and school or college principals in respective districts. He also said that people can also contact him for more information about admission process at his contact number 98661 29052.
